STORE NEWS

Export Shipments of Hawaiian Hoodia™ Seeds Have Resumed.  After long permitting delays we are now authorized to export CITES regulated species of Hoodia (seeds) and African Euphorbia plants.

Hoodia Plant Sales to Resume.   Most of our hoodia plant inventory was moved to our Moana Experimental Farm at Ocean View, Hawai`i for field trials.  A new inventory of seedlings of our improved cultivars will be available for sale by mid-October 2024.  Sales of seeds from our hoodia seed bank will continue.

We are looking for business partners to grow our improved hoodia cultivars in areas with suitable growing conditions.  These plants will be primarily intended for production of certified organic cuttings for sale as fresh produce items in food stores.  If you are interested, please contact us for more information.

Moringa Seed Mixtures.  We are combining some seed lots that were previously sold separately into mixtures.  This will help to simplify ordering, reduce customer confusion, save critical freezer space and improve inventory management.

Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) Program Ended.  We are no longer participating in the CNG program, which provided certification of our organic produce products.  While this is an excellent program we are only able to grow a small amount of produce for sale and the costs of maintaining certification and using certified fertilizers became prohibitive.  Produce grown to organic standards may still be produced by us but it will no longer be certified as CNG.  Seeds produced during our period of certification will still be listed as CNG.

New Products

Nitrogen Fixing, Non-GMO Corn Seeds.  Following a recent BBC program and news articles there has been unprecedented demand for these seeds, which were scarce and costly.  We are now offering a greatly expanded inventory of Hawaiian grown seeds from the first large harvest at a research partner’s farm in Hilo.  Previously we could only offer small amounts of seeds of various landraces originating from southern Mexico.  Because corn wilt disease is present in Mexico the seeds could not be shipped to the European Union and some other countries.  These restrictions do not apply to the seeds grown in Hawai`i, which is free of the wilt disease.

Pittosporum hosmeri (Ho’awa).  Seeds of this Hawaiian species are seasonally available and currently in stock.
