Fabaceae (Leguminosae)

The Fabaceae or Leguminosae, commonly known as the legume, pea, or bean family is a very large and economically important family of flowering plants. It includes trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants that are easily recognized by their fruit (legume) and their compound, leaves, which have stipules – outgrowths at the base of the leaf stalks. The group is widely distributed and is the third-largest land plant family.
