Kenya: Variety "MBOLOLO"

This variety was developed at the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) in Nairobi, Kenya.  The trees are of highly productive and of moderate size, reaching a maximum height of about 15 feet without trimming.  The seed oil may be used for cooking.

Small quantities of the seeds from Kenya remain in our inventory and we have lost our only supplier.

Our inventory also includes one lot of seeds from a tree grown in Hawai`i from a Mbololo seed.  The Hawaiian seeds were the products of open pollinations in an area where trees of other varieities were present and in bloom.
