These are a mixture of seed lots from a tree grown at Discovery Harbour, in the Kau Disrtict of Hawai`i from a Kenyan seed from lot# MO-KEN(A)-01, believed to be of the variety Mbololo. This was the best performing tree in a small field trial conducted at this location comparing several varieties and ecotypes of moringa. The seeds were produced in open pollination and may be the products of crosses with other varieties.
Based on the most recent testing the estimated germination rate for this seed mixture is 42%. Seeds from this source tend to be slow to germinate and could have germinated after the two week period typcially used for our testing.
