Seeds in this lot are probably the first seeds of this species produced in Hawai`i. They are the products of open pollination of trees grown near Kaunakakai on Moloka'i island. The trees were grown as seedlings at our facility in Discovery Harbour on Hawai`i island from seeds collected in the wild in the Al Madinah area of Saudi Arabia in 2014 – 2015. The seedlings were then transported to Moloka`i for planting.
The seeds in this lot were shipped to us in September 2020 and were harvested earlier in that year.
Testing of a small sample of these seeds indicated a germination rate of about 80%.
