Pittosporum hosmeri (Ho'awa)

Pittosporum hosmeri (ho’awa) is a native Hawaiian tree endemic to Hawai`i island.  It has many characteristics making it a good selection for low maintenance landscapes.  The flowers are fragrant at night.

Our seeds are produced only from trees in cultivation at our facility and in irregular cycles throughout the year. They are harvested from ripe pods (capsules) as needed to fill orders and shipped unprocessed with the sticky resinous coating that they have in the pods.

Seeds from this species are recalcitrant, meaning that they are short lived and cannot be stored for long periods of time. Plant them as soon as possible upon receipt.
