Casimiroa edulis (White Sapote), Denzler variety

This species from Central America produces a delicious, custard like fruit also known as the Mexican applie, casimirola or cochitzapotl.  We offer seeds and sometimes seedlings of the Denzler variety, the most widely grown cultivar in Hawai`i.  It has large fruit with a longer shelf life than other varieities and the trees are self-fertile, not requiring a pollinator.

These seeds are seasonally availabe.  They are out of season and our inventory is very low.

White sapote seeds are recalcitrant.  They cannot be stored for long periods of time without loosing viability.  Plant them immediately upon receipt.

White Sapote Seeds, Denzler Variety, Packet of 3.

These large seeds are from our highly productive tree at Discovery Harbour, Hawai`i.  They are slow to germinate but grow rapidly under suitable tropical conditions.  Grafting is not required for fruit production.
