Common names include: awapuhi, bitter ginger, pinecone ginger and shampoo ginger.
Plants of these species are seasonally available because they are decidious. They are grown outdoors and not available as Certified Nursery Stock.
They are supplied as rhizomes, with or without active shoots.
We offer non-certified plants (bare root rhizomes) for shipment to all states except Arizona, California, Louisiana and Texas. Shipping these during the winter to areas with cold climates is not recommended because they may be damaged by cold or freezing temperatures in transit. Potted plants will also be sold from outlets on Hawai`i island. All of these are grown in Hawai`i and carry the Hawai`i Seal of Quality.
