FAQs
Thank you for visiting our website. Here are some of the more common questions that we receive:
1. Do you have seeds of the Socotra Island Roses or Bottle Trees (Adenium socotranum)?
Sorry, we do not have seeds of this species. Only plants are available from this online store. Our plants are several years old but most have not bloomed yet. They may take years to mature. We got only three flowers last year on our plants but they bloomed at separate times and did not pollinate.
We are not aware of other legitimate sources of seeds of the pure species of this plant. Other sellers may advertise seeds but they are likely to be from hybrids.
2. We would like to acquire large quantities of Arabian moringa (Moringa peregrina) seeds for planned agricultural projects in Africa. Can you supply these?
Supplies of seeds of this species are scarce and we have lost our last supplier in Saudi Arabia. We are looking for new sources of seeds but none are accessible to us. Our trees here in Hawaii remain small, are slow growing, and unlikely to produce seeds in the near future. Unfortunately, we cannot provide large quantities of seeds and the small remaining inventory in our seed bank may be depleted soon.
3. Will you be offering Hoodia products for consumption or use as dietary supplements?
Yes, we are planning to initially offer Hawaiian-grown, organic hoodia as a raw produce product and later in the form of processed products. These products are currently in research and development. We will not offer them to the public until we can complete extensive testing to ensure potency, safety and other quality requirements and export permits are secured. These tests are costly and we are currently seeking additional funding to carry them out. We will also need to find a grower on Hawaii island that will be able to meet our production requirements and standards.
