Data in this section is from our observations of plants in cultivation at the Moana Experimental Farm located at Hawaiian Ocean View, in the Kau District of Hawai`i island.

Plant Growth:

Plants are fast growing producing many stems.

Disease Resistance:

Canker Resistance Level: Moderate.  Add narrative.

Other Diseases: White spot disease.  Appears to be caused by exposure to volcanic emissions.

Bloom dates:

June – August

Harvest Season:

July-September

Yield:

Medium to large fruit over 2-3 month harvest period. Pink-purple flesh with good flavor.

Summary and Recommendations:

Parental stock was obtained from a local box store nursery; identification uncertain. Plants have an extended bloom season and produce good quality fruit.
